Tiancheng Zhao is a Ph.D. student in the Language Technologies Institute at Carnegie Mellon advised by Dr. Maxine Eskenazi. He develops deep-learning methods for end-to-end dialog systems and is known for his work in latent variable models and zero-shot domain adaptation. He publishes at top-tier NLP/ML conferences and his work has won best paper awards. He co-founded ConvMind Inc, an AI company focusing on conversational AI technologies. Before becoming a graduate student at CMU, Tiancheng obtained his B.S in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2014 with an Outstanding Bachelor of Science Award.
