Aliza Sherman is a professional speaker, published author and web pioneer who first went online in 1987. In 1995, she started the first woman-owned Internet company, Cybergrrl, Inc., and the first global Internet networking organization for women, Webgrrls International.
Newsweek named her one of the “Top People Who Matter Most on the Internet” that same year. In 2009, Fast Company called her one of the “Most Powerful Women in Technology.”
She is the author of 11 books including The Everything Blogging Book, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Crowdsourcing and Social Media Engagement for Dummies and The Happy, Healthy Nonprofit, co-authored with Beth Kanter.
Aliza’s early work on the Internet helped pave the way for today’s web industry. She consults and trains executives and teams at companies and nonprofits on leveraging digital technologies to build more meaningful connections with customers and constituents.
